2008 - Freshman Year - Stepped into a platoon role with Thomas Drewery as a freshman...Had a huge, three-hit, game against North Carolina Wesleyan in the championship round of the USA South Tournament, helping lift the Captains out of the losers' bracket and into a title contest with the Bishops, which CNU won...Also had two hits against Guilford and Castleton St. and drove in two runs in a game with York (Pa.)...Had a home run in that game.

AT FOREST PARK - Named first team all-Cardinal District as well as honorable mention all-region and first team all-area...The team finished third in the state in his senior year when he was captain...Hit .400 for his career with eight home runs and 78 RBIs...Graduated Cum Laude and won an academic letter. Volunteered at Learn and Serve.

PERSONAL - Matthew Allen McDaniel was born Oct. 5, 1988 in Fairfax, Va...The Political Science major is the son of Doug and Donna McDaniel...His grandfather played baseball at Columbia University.
