2016 - Senior Season - Polished off an outstanding career with her finest season in Newport News … Secured first-team All-Conference and second-team All-State accolades for her work with the Captains … Led the team with a 2.97 kills-per-set average and ranked sixth in the CAC with 348 total blasts … Led CNU with 18 double-digit kill efforts during the year, including seven against NCAA Tournament participants … Unleashed a season-best 18-kill assault against No. 14 Mary Washington on October 14 … Posted at least 15 kills on seven occasions, including twice during the Captains Classic … Hammered 15 against Stevenson on September 2 and UMass Boston on September 3 … Earned a spot on the All-Tournament team for that effort … Also secured a place on the CNU Invitational and Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational All-Tournament teams for her work early in the season … Registered a pair of double-doubles during the year after posting 15 kills and 10 digs against Averett on September 17 before adding 16 kills and 10 digs at Salisbury in the CAC semifinals on November 3 … Capped off the year with 13 kills in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Johns Hopkins on November 11 … Helped out on the defensive end as well with 56 blocks, including five in back-to-back matches at St. Mary’s (Md.) on October 28 and Marymount on October 29 … Finished the year ranked seventh in the CAC with 378 total points.

2015 - Junior Season - Appeared in 32 matches and finished second on the team with 258 kills … Excelled as an outside hitter and also spent significant time on the right-side during her third year with the Captains … Kicked off the season by earning All-Tournament honors during the Captains Classic … Clubbed 44 kills during the four-match tournament, including 12 against Meredith on September 4 before matching that effort during both ends of the doubleheader against Hiram and Bridgewater on September 5 … Lit up No. 12 Eastern with 10 kills and a .348 hitting percentage on September 12 … Added 10 more kills against No. 4 Juniata on September 18 … Finished with 19 double-digit kill efforts during the season, including a tremendous run at the end of the year … Fired 16 kills against St. Mary’s (Md.) in the CAC semifinals on November 5 … Came back with 13 kills against Hunter in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on November 13 before ripping 16 more versus Randolph-Macon on November 14 … Chipped in with 48 blocks during the season, including five in a three-set match at Washington & Lee on September 26 … Pocketed 63 digs during the year as well.

2014 - Sophomore Season - Orchestrated a breakout campaign during her second year with the Captains … Secured honorable mention AVCA All-Region honors and was a second-team VaSID All-State selection … Ranked third on the team with 293 kills and averaged 2.42 blasts per set … Came through with 13 double-digit kill efforts during the season, including an incredible run during the middle of the year … Roped at least 10 kills in seven straight contests from September 12-23, marking the longest streak by a Captain since 2012 … Earned a spot on the Juniata / ASICS Invitational All-Tournament team during that run after firing 10 kills against SUNY Cortland before adding back-to-back 13-kill efforts against No. 6 Juniata and Franklin & Marshall … Came through with a season-high 16 kills against Wisconsin-Superior on October 4 … Excelled during the postseason, including a solid run during the CAC Tournament … Ripped 11 kills against St. Mary’s during the semifinals on November 6 before adding seven rockets on just 13 swings against Salisbury in the title bout on November 8 … Also kicked off the NCAA Tournament with a strong performance after uncorking nine kills against Gallaudet on November 14 … Did solid work on the defensive end with 42 rejections, including 10 multi-block performances … Contributed 120 digs as well and just missed a pair of double-doubles after registering nine digs against Virginia Wesleyan on September 12 and at Salisbury on September 30. 

2013 - Freshman Season - Competed in 19 matches during the year and earned a pair of starts for the Captains … Came through with her finest efforts of the season during the prestigious Gargoyle Classic in Chicago … Started her first career match and collected 10 digs and a pair of blocks against Benedictine on September 20 … Cracked the lineup again later in the day against Chicago and compiled a season-high 11 kills to go along with nine digs and a block … Had another good match against Scranton on September 28 with nine kills and seven digs during the CNU Invitational … Also came through with seven kills against Southern Virginia early in the season on September 6 before firing five more against the Knights during their second meeting on October 8 … Finished the year with 51 kills, 43 digs, and 10 blocks.

At Mathews - Excelled as a middle and outside hitter during her four seasons with the Blue Devils … Earned All-State accolades during each of her last two seasons and was a first-team All-Regional pick three times … Named to the first-team All-District squad after each of her four years with the Blue Devils … Guided the team to four straight District and Regional championships and a pair of state titles during her last two seasons … Honored with a spot on the All-Academic team as well.

Personal - Madison Jane McCann is the daughter of Chris and Lisa McCann … Has a sister, Kai, and a brother, Jonathon … Her dream vacation would be a trip to the Alaskan Wilderness … ”Coming Out of the Ice” is her favorite book, while “Inception” is her favorite movie … Her goal in life is to be happy.
