2006-07 - Sophomore Year -

2005-06 - Freshman Year - Earned USA South Rookie of the Year honors and immediately caught the fans attention as one of the most exciting players ever to wear a CNU uniform...Also named second team all-USA South and second team all-Virginia Division II-III...Selected to the all-tournament team at the CNU Invitational...Ranked sixth in the nation in Division III in assists with 6.8 per game...His season total of 190 was the ninth best in school history...Placed second on the team in scoring with a 13.4 mark...Scored in double figures 20 times, including a season-high 32 against Lincoln (Pa.) in a tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C...Also had 24 against N.C. Wesleyan and 23 in the USA South championship game with Averett...Had four games in double figures in assists, topped by 13 each versus Lincoln (the same game in which he scored 32) and Ferrum. Twice an Honorable Mention All-Peninsula District choice for coach Craig Brehon...Named team MVP as a junior. made the All-Tournament team at the Bethel/Hampton Christmas Classic...Averaged 12 points and five assists...Won an Academic Letter...A member of SCA and the newspaper staff.

Personal - Davon J. Barton was born Jan. 22, 1987 in Brooklyn, N.Y...Son of David and Donna Barton...Major is Communications...Has a brother DaShawn, 12.

Earned second team all-USA South honors after leading the Captains in scoring with a 16.5 mark...Scored in double figures in all but four games with a high of 29 against Fisk...Also had six other games over 20 including 26 versus N.C. Wesleyan and 25 in the season opener with York (N.Y.)...But it was distributing the ball where he really shined...Ranked second in the nation in assists with an average of 8.3 per game...Had 15 against Methodist and 12 versus Southern Virginia...The total for the season of 217 was the seventh best in school history and his 407 career total already rank him seventh in CNU history, after just two years.
