2011 – JUNIOR SEASON - Earned second-team All-Conference honors during her junior campaign…Earned a spot on the VaSID Academic All-State team for her performance in the classroom as well…One of only three players to appear in all 43 matches during the year…Saw action in a team-high 137 sets, making her the first player in program history to reach that amount in two separate seasons after appearing in 143 frames as a freshman in 2009…Her 348 kills ranked fourth in the USA South, while her 341 digs were the 11th most among conference performers…Had at least 10 kills in 14 matches during the season, including a string of three straight from Sept. 3-4…The latter two efforts came in a doubleheader against the Coast Guard Academy and Stevens Institute…Posted her first of five double-doubles against the Bears in the first match with 13 kills and 10 digs…Added a season-best 15 kills and a .469 hitting percentage against the Ducks in the nightcap…Came through with four more double-double efforts against Mary Washington on Oct. 8 (15 digs / 11 kills), Eastern on Oct. 14 (17 digs, 10 kills), N.C. Wesleyan on Oct. 20 (13 kills / 11 digs), and SUNY Cortland on Nov. 18 (12 kills / 11 digs)…Posted an incredible .619 hitting percentage on Sept. 16 against Meredith after blasting 13 kills on 21 swings without a single attack error…Topped that effort on Oct. 29 after hitting .688 against Ferrum while connecting on 11 of 16 attempts…Eclipsed the 10-kill plateau during both the quarterfinals and semifinals of the NCAA Tournament, launching 12 against SUNY Cortland on Nov. 18 before adding 10 against Carthage on Nov. 19…Chipped in with eight kills, 10 digs, and a block during the championship bout against Wittenberg…Set a season-high with three blocks against the Coast Guard Academy on Sept. 4 before matching that effort against Ohio Northern on Sept. 10…Had at least one block in nine of the team’s final 11 matches…Lined two aces in a pair of matches, posting two against Meredith on Sept. 16 and Methodist on Oct. 1.
2010 - SOPHOMORE SEASON - A second team All-Conference selection that played in 129 matches…Totaled 293 kills (2.27 K/Set)…Had 13 assists and 18 service aces…Added 287 digs (2.22 D/Set) and made four solo blocks and had 46 block assists…Had nine kills and a season high 19 digs in CNU’s NCAA Tournament Regional victory over Eastern…
2009 - FRESHMAN SEASON - In her first season at CNU she was named second-team all-USA South and USA South all-tournament team…she appeared in 143 games with a total of 337 kills for the season, 20 coming against Salisbury in the NCAA Regional Championship…Named to the NYU Regional All-Tournament Team...Contributed 342 digs for the year, with 22 against Meredith College and 18 coming against Juniata…Had 32 service aces, 5 against Shenandoah and 4 against NC Wesleyan College…Produced 32 blocks, including four against NC Wesleyan College…Also had 12 assists and was a member of the Conference All-Academic Team.
AT JAMESTOWN - Named second team all-state as a senior playing for coach Tom Stephenson...Also first team all-region and Bay Rivers District Player of the Year...In addition she was Daily Press Metro Player of the Year and Virginia Gazette co-Player of the Year...Was a second team all-district selection as a junior... Team tri-captain...Set five Virginia High School League records and played in the Virginia High School Coaches Association all-star game which was played in the Freeman Center...A member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society...Worked at Colonial Williamsburg.
PERSONAL - Cory Lynne Harris was born July 15, 1991 in Williamsburg, Va...The daughter of Trey Harris and Cory Springer has decided to major in Communications...Cory is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and made the Dean's list in the fall and spring...She is also a tri-athlete...Her biggest thrill as a CNU student-athlete was going to the Elite Eight in 2009.
