2012 - Junior - A second team All-USA South selection...Started at No. 3 singles and posted a 6-9 singles mark in dual singles competition...Played one match at No. 2 singles and gave a strong efford in a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) win over Salisbury...ITA Regional Tournament Doubles Champion with partner Eric Shulman...Ranked as high as #4 in the country in doubles...Had a 16-9 overall doubles record...Teamed with Shulman to claim victories over nationally ranked NC Wesleyan and Trinity (TX)...King and Shulman saved a multitude of match points against Trinity (TX) and booked a place in the semi-finals of the Small College National Championships with a 7-5, 2-6, 16-14 victory...All-American honors in doubles...

2011 - Sophomore - Started at No. 4 singles and by mid-season was playing some at No.2 and 3...Posted a 7-5 singles mark with wins against Division I Nofolk State (6-3, 6-3) and Division II Mercyhurst (6-2, 6-3)...Went 12-6 in doubles with a 4-2 mark at No. 1 and 8-4 at No.2...

Before CNU - Played tennis under coaches Dick Crealey and Carl Nielson at Sydney Boys High School where the team won two championships...Was selected to the All-State and first team All-District teams...Was an Australian Schoolboys Championships doubles runner-up...Had high distinctions in Math, Science and English...Also attended both Catawba College and Temple University...

Personal - Matthew King was born on November 9, 1989 in Sydney, NSW, Australia...He is the son of Peter and Julie-Ann King and has one sister, Danielle...Majoring in communications and chose CNU because of the academics, the tennis program and the weather.
