Live Broadcast // Live Stats

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. --
After a three-game road swing, the fourth-ranked Christopher Newport men's lacrosse team will return home on Saturday at noon for the Coastal Lacrosse Conference opener against Stockton at Jennings Family Stadium.

Coming into the weekend, CNU sits at 10-2 on the season, including 7-0 at home. Meanwhile, Stockton is 8-2 with a 1-2 mark on the road.

For those fans unable to attend the game, live stats will be available at CNUsports.com. Christopher Newport will also provide a broadcast of the game with Will Geise and Randy Foster calling all of the action. Direct links to both features can be found at the top of this release and on the schedule page.

In addition to being the league opener, Saturday's contest will also serve as the program's annual Senior Day. Prior to the contest, Christopher Newport will hold an on-field ceremony to celebrate the squad's senior class. Together, the group has led the program to a remarkable 63-15 record since 2023. That already ranks as the third-most wins during any four-year period in school history.

During that stretch, the Captains have made three trips to the NCAA Quarterfinals, including a Final Four berth in 2023. Over the past four years, the squad has never fallen out of the top-10 in the USILA National Coaches Poll, including two weeks spent at the top of the rankings.

Among the fourth-year members of the team, AJ Rosacker ranks 15th among all active players in the nation with 71 career appearances, while Daniel Siaton is 19th with 70 games played. Meanwhile, Jamie Smith is 21st among current players with 146 goals, and Mason Bellinger is one of only 50 standouts from across the country with at least 400 career saves.

In addition to the seniors on the national leaderboards, Rory Keverline was named a Preseason All-American this year, while Jude MacLean and Ethan Slusher both have double-digit point totals as standouts on the midfield unit. Additionally, Ryan Almassian, Chris Lewis, Matt McCabe, Brady Mitchell, Gabe Montognese, Luke Solomon, and Tyler Yang have been four-year contributors on the squad. Along with the stars on the field, Director of Creative Media Tim Smith will also be recognized for his work with the program.

Among the leading performers on this year's team, Smith ranks second in the NCAA with 55 goals, while Bellinger is fourth with 148 saves. Along with the seniors, junior All-American Kevin Miller sits second on the national leaderboard with 45 assists. He is just two helpers away from reaching 150 for his career. Only fellow All-American Coby Auslander previously reached that benchmark after he set the school standard with 161 assists from 2020-24.

Approaching his own historic milestone, Ryan Miller has 25 assists this season. That stands as the second-highest total by a freshman in program history, trailing only former legend Jackson Deal, who had 29 helpers during his debut campaign in 2018. Miller also has 48 points this season. Previously, only two Captains ever reached 50 points as freshmen. Dylan Rice set the standard with 75 points in 2018, while Kevin Miller had 50 points during his debut in 2024.

Aided by the historic performers, Christopher Newport ranks 19th in the nation in scoring offense with a 14.75 goals-per-game average. The Captains are also third in clearing percentage (.908) and seventh in caused turnovers-per-game (13.83).

Stockton comes into Saturday with an equally prolific offense. The Ospreys are 15th in the NCAA in scoring with a 15.30 goals-per-game rate. On an individual level, Alex DeLierre is ninth nationally with 38 tallies, while Colin Wagner is third in the country with seven man-up goals. As a team, the squad has capitalized on 40 percent of its power play opportunities this season, which ranks 39th in the nation.

Along with the offensive contributors, Cole Blum has a .610 faceoff percentage after winning 133 of his 218 attempts. He has also hauled in 73 ground balls while posting five points. On the back end, Ben Blum has a .541 save percentage and 8.37 goals-against-average. He has notched at least 10 saves on three occasions, including 12 stops during a 16-9 win over No. 19 Swarthmore on March 4.

In four previous meetings between the two programs, Christopher Newport holds a 4-0 lead in the all-time series, including a 16-6 win in Galloway, New Jersey last season. Smith had four goals for the Captains in that contest, while Ben Blum hauled in 14 saves for the Ospreys.

After Saturday, CNU will continue Coastal Lacrosse Conference action on April 1 with a 4 p.m. battle at Mary Washington.
