NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Due to inclement weather in Newport News on Monday, head coach
John Harvell announced the baseball game versus Regent University originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16 has been postponed. The Captains have also announced a rescheduled date against the Royals for April 12 at 2:00 p.m.
Christopher Newport, ranked No. 19 in the D3baseball.com Top 25 poll, improved to 13-5 over the weekend with a series victory against Wittenberg University, taking two out of three from the Tigers.
In its inaugural season, Regent University is off to a 7-8 start including three straight wins.
The teams will face off twice this season with both games being played at Captains Park. The rescheduled matchup on April 12 will be played at 2:00 p.m. with a second game set for Thursday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m.
Next up for the Captains will be Randolph-Macon College on Saturday, March 21 with first pitch at Captains Park scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
