Hayden Dewey hauled in the award after leading CNU between the pipes in two games this weekend.
The Captains opened up the 2025 campaign with a pair of draws, playing to a 1-1 score against Merchant Marine and adding a scoreless draw versus No. 8 Dickinson College. Dewey made five saves in the two games and secured the first shutout of the season for the Captains while playing all 180 minutes in goal.
First up, the veteran netminder made three stops while facing ten shots against the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Friday night. Then, while taking on the nationally-ranked Red Devils, Dewey made two saves on six total attempts from the field.
A second team All-Conference performer last season, Dewey moved up to sixth on the career starts list at CNU with his 38th career showing. He eclipsed 3,300 career minutes played and lowered his career goals-against average to 1.28 while picking up his sixth career shutout.
CNU will return to action on Saturday, September 6 against William Paterson University at 5:00 p.m.
