NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Having won three consecutive matches and 13 of its last 15, CNU volleyball will close its regular season by hosting the CNU Invitational this weekend.
On Friday, the Captains (19-7) will go against Eastern (Pa.) University at 3 p.m. and Centre (Ky.) College at 7 p.m. On Saturday, CNU will face Roanoke College at 1 p.m.
Saturday will be the Captains' Senior Day. Playing their final regular-season match in the Freeman Center will be
Alyssa Dozier,
Megan James and
Maddi Morrison.
Eastern University, a member of the Middle Atlantic Conference, comes to Freeman with a 20-6 record. CNU is 7-4 in the series and defeated the Eagles 3-1 (27-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-18) last season in Pennsylvania.
Centre College, a member of the Southern Athletic Association, is 16-10 and has won four consecutive matches. The Captains are 0-2 in the series with both losses coming away from home.
Roanoke (9-15) of the ODAC leads the series with CNU 7-4, but the teams haven't played since 2009. CNU has hosted the Maroons only once, which came in 1980.

Dozier is the only player in the C2C who is either first or second in kills per set (3.42, second), hitting percentage (.374, second) and blocks per set (1.20, first) in the conference statistics. …
Fielding Croft is second in the C2C in assists per set (8.56).
Maddie Hanes is third in digs per set (3.46) and
Emmy Carpenedo is fifth in aces per set (0.46). …
