SANTA CRUZ, Calif. -- After closing the regular season by winning 16 of its final 18 matches, Christopher Newport University looks to keep rolling across the country in the Coast-To-Coast Volleyball Championship.
The No. 2 Captains (22-7) will play No. 3 and tournament host UC Santa Cruz (10-15) in the semifinals Friday at 4:30 p.m. EST. CNU is going for its third conference championship in five seasons and the automatic bid to what would be its 18
th consecutive NCAA tournament.
Salisbury (27-5), the No. 1 seed, will go against either No. 4 Mary Washington (10-21) or No. 5 Regent (17-9) in Friday's second semifinal at 7 p.m. EST. The championship match will be Saturday at 6 p.m. EST.
The Captains went 5-1 against its C2C opponents in the regular season by sweeping Mary Washington, defeating UC Santa Cruz and Regent once each and splitting a pair against Salisbury.
CNU's balanced lineup is spearheaded by three-time C2C Player of the Year
Alyssa Dozier, who leads the team in kills (323, 3.47 per set), total blocks (110, 1.18 per set), points (410, 4.41 per set) and percentage (.387).

Simara Alexander are averaging between 2.55 and 2.20 kills per set. Libero
Maddie Hanes leads the C2C in digs (359, 3.63 per set) and freshman setter
Fielding Croft is No. 2 in assists (880, 8.89 per set).
