NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -
Christopher Newport University and Randolph-Macon College square off Wednesday night in a Top 20 showdown at Crenshaw Gymnasium on the R-MC campus in Ashland, Va. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m.

Christopher Newport University began a stretch of four straight road contests last Wednesday night, recording an 85-66 victory at Johns Hopkins University. The win was CNU's fifth straight, and ninth in the last ten games for the Captains, who moved up from 12th to 7th in the national poll this week from D3hoops.com.

Sophomore Jason Ofcarcik came off the bench to lead the way against Johns Hopkins with his first double-double as a Captain. Ofcarcik scored a career-high 21 points and also topped the squad with 11 rebounds as John Krikorian's squad improved to 14-3 on the season. Ofcarcik was named the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for his effort as the Captains won their first road game of 2025.

Fifth-year senior All-American Jahn Hines went over the 1,800-point mark in the victory in Baltimore last Wednesday. Hines, who has played in 111 games in his career, scored 13 points vs. the Blue Jays, and has now scored 1,809 points in his career (an average of 16.3 per game). He is presently sixth on the all-time scoring list, just 12 points shy of Conley Taylor for fifth place.

Randolph-Macon has a mark of 11-3 so far this season, and the Yellow Jackets are ranked 16th in the country and riding an eight-game wining streak. Josh Merkel's squad won its last time out on Saturday at Washington and Lee University, 72-45, and the Yellow Jackets have a record of 5-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

CNU and R-MC will be meeting for the 33rd time, and the Yellow Jackets hold a 20-12 lead in the all-time series. Last year at the Freeman Center, CNU posted a 64-54 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The Captains have won eight of their last ten head-to-head contests against R-MC.
