SWANNANOA, N.C. -- The regular season will come to a close on Saturday for the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team as the Captains (23-1) travel to Warren Wilson College for a 1:00 p.m. tip in the final game before tournament play. Christopher Newport is riding an eleven-game winning streak head into Saturday's finale against the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference foe.

It will be just the second time the two teams have faced off with CNU capturing a 100-36 win at the Freeman Center earlier this season. In that game, the freshmen class had a standout performance, combining for 52 points and 28 rebounds against the Owls. Rookie point guard Mia Wilson scored a team-high 14 points while classmates Caitlin Crump (13 pts), Elizabeth Creed (12 pts), and Jessica Dornak (10 pts) each finished in double figures for the Captains. 

Three CNU players are averaging double figures this season in junior Hannah Kaloi (11.7 ppg), senior Alivia Giles (11.5 ppg), and senior Camille Malagar (10.1 ppg). Giles is also the team's leading rebounder, hauling in 6.4 rebounds per game. 

Warren Wilson enters the game with a 1-23 overall record, but the Owls picked up their first win of the year less than two weeks ago. Warren Wilson downed Bob Jones, 64-61, on February 6. The Owls are led by Moosie Lewis with 15.9 points per game while Weronika Swojak is averaging a double-double with 13.2 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. 

Following the trip to Asheville, N.C., the Captains will return home to Newport News to host the 2024 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The quarterfinals will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22 followed by the semifinals on Friday, February 23. The 2024 C2C Championship will be played at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24.
