NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -
Christopher Newport University wraps up the regular season on Saturday afternoon, as the 20th-ranked Captains travel to Salisbury, Md., to take on the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University. Tip off time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the Maggs Center.

The Captains have won three straight games and seven of their last eight, and have a 19-5 overall record. Most recently, John Krikorian's squad defeated Mary Washington last Saturday at the Freeman Center, 80-71.The victory ended a string of five straight home games for CNU that saw the Captains win four times to finish 12-2 at home this season.

Salisbury also played Mary Washington in its last game, and the Sea Gulls fell to the Eagles on a buzzer-beater, 65-64, on Wednesday night in Salisbury. The loss was the fifth straight for the Sea Gulls, who are now 12-12 on the season.

CNU and Salisbury will be meeting for the 53rd time, and the Captains lead the all-time series, 37-15. Christopher Newport has won the last 14 games played dating back to the 2016-17 season. CNU defeated the Gulls at the Freeman Center on February 3rd, 75-63, in the first meeting this season of the C2C members.

Christopher Newport senior Jahn Hines, who was named the C2C Player of the Week this week for the fourth time this season, was selected Thursday to the Bevo Francis Top 50 watch list as one of the best small college players in the country. Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee originally released the Top 100 watch list on January 15th, and now has narrowed the list down to the Top 50, which still includes the Norfolk product. The list is made up of some of the best players across the NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, USCAA, and NCCAA. Hines is currently 13th on CNU's all-time scoring list, and the All-American has averaged 16.2 points per game during his CNU career.

Captains men's basketball is broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 3:40 p.m. Saturday from the Maggs Center in Salisbury.
