NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Closing out the regular season at home, the top-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team will welcome the University of Mary Washington (19-4) to the Freeman Center on Wednesday night for a 5:30 p.m. tip. Prior to the action, the Captains will celebrate the careers of the senior class in a pre-game Senior Night ceremony.

The Captains enter the game riding a 23-game winning streak and will be taking on the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference rival for the 60th time in the all-time series. CNU has a decided 38-21 advantage in the matchup including eight straight victories over Mary Washington. Earlier this season, the Captains captured a 20-point win on the road, 69-49, back on January 11.

In addition to being one of just three remaining undefeated teams at 23-0, the Captains have also constructed the second-longest home winning streak in program history with 37 straight wins at the Freeman Center. Defense has been key as Christopher Newport has held opponents to 60 or fewer points in 18 games this season. Meanwhile, the offense ranks third in the country in scoring, averaging 88.0 points per game.

Sophomore forward Hannah Kaloi eclipsed 100 rebounds for the season last weekend with one of her top rebounding performances of the season with seven caroms. She ranks third on the team in scoring with 8.5 points per game and is the second-leading rebounder, hauling in 4.4 per contest. Kaloi and senior Katy Rader are the only two players to start all 23 games this season for the Captains and both have been integral cogs to the Captains' success. Rader leads the team in steals, with 54, and is the second-leading three-point shooter with 37 treys this season.

Mary Washington is led by junior forward Jordan Carpenter averaging 14.6 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season. She is knocking down 62.4 percent of her shots to rank second in the league in FG percentage while also snagging 2.6 steals per game. Helping lead the Eagles to the impressive 19-4 overall record, Keagan Schwab is averaging 11.6 points and Elizabeth Dufrane is adding 9.3 points per game.

Live stats and a live video webcast will be available at CNUsports.com. After the conclusion of the regular season, the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference will announce the seeding for next week's conference tournament, which will be held at the University of Mary Washington from Thursday, February 23-Saturday, February 25. The top two seeds will receive a bye into Friday's semifinal round, with games at 5:00 and 7:00 pm.
