Alivia Giles, the third-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team pulled away in the second half to capture a 90-69 win at North Carolina Wesleyan (3-4) on Tuesday afternoon. Giles was 10-of-14 from the field and also hauled in a team-high seven rebounds in the game.
CNU improves to 9-0 on the season while extending a nation-leading road winning streak to 35 straight games.
Camille Malagar also finished in double figures with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting while rookies
Caitlin Crump and
Mia Wilson each poured in nine points in the balanced scoring effort.
As a team, the Captains shot 51.4 percent (37-72) from the field and 13 different players got into the scoring column.
Christopher Newport will return to action this Saturday, December 16 at Stevenson University. The Captains and Mustangs will tip off at 4:00 p.m.
