Match Details
The Captains square off with Ramapo at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning in Baltimore. The winners will advance to Friday's regional semifinals ahead of Saturday's regional final.
Last Time Out
Christopher Newport took down UC Santa Cruz in the C2C Third-Place Match on Saturday. CNU held UCSC to a .027 hitting percentage, the second lowest by an opponent this year, and served 13 aces, which is their third-best performance in a three-set match this season.
Alyssa Dozier and
Sammy Carroll were named to the AVCA All-Region 6 First Team on Wednesday. It's Dozier's second straight selection after winning Freshman of the Year last season. Carroll became just the second CNU player to ever take home All-Region honors in four straight seasons.

Christopher Newport will line up in their 16th straight NCAA Tournament on Thursday. It's the fifth longest streak in D3 volleyball and matches Keith Parr's CNU record for consecutive postseason tournaments as the Captains' softball program has made every edition of the NCAA Tournament since Spring 2007.
Series History
The Captains have won their only two matchups with Ramapo. The two sides met twice in one weekend back in 2003 with CNU taking all six sets.
Scouting the Roadrunners
Ramapo comes into the tournament on a 13 match winning streak. They hold a 25-1 overall record and avenged their only loss to Stockton in the NJAC final. The Roadrunners have held opponents to a national best .064 hitting percentage this season and rank 16th nationally with a .250 hitting percentage this season. Desiree Cruz has the fourth-best hitting percentage in the nation at .408.Â
