NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Christopher Newport Volleyball is set to host William Peace in the Captains' final home contest of the 2023 season.

The Captains host William Peace on Thursday, October 26 at the Freeman Center. The match is set for 6:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
Christopher Newport won both of the matches on their Saturday slate with victories over Swarthmore and Washington & Lee. In the win over Washington & Lee, the Captains set a school record and two Freeman Center records fell in a five-set thriller. Christopher Newport hit 73 kills in the win over Washington & Lee which is the most kills in a match since 2005. It's the third-most kills in a match in program history and the most since sets changed from 30 points to 25. Additionally, this is the most kills in a match in the history of the Freeman Center.
Noelle Starr finished the match with 40 digs, which is the most digs in a match since 2011, is tied for the second-most digs in school history, and sets a Freeman Center record.

8 - The Captains ranks eighth nationally in both assists and kills. The Captains have totaled 1137 assists this season led by
Sammy Carroll who is third nationally with 970. In kills, CNU has hit 1226 with
Samantha Dorn leading the way with a top-50 total of 297.
Series History
CNU is 32-0 against William Peace all-time, including a three-set win back on September 23 in Raleigh.
Kyla McIntyre led the way with 14 kills and two blocks while
Sammy Carroll posted a double-double with 39 assists and 13 digs.
Scouting the Pacers
William Peace is 12-12 this season and lost two of their three matches last week before falling to their cross-town rival Meredith on Tuesday night. The Pacers are 4-5 away from home this year. As a team, WPU is 18th nationally with 1632 digs this season.
