The Coast-to-Coast Invitational features Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, UC Santa Cruz, and Salisbury. The Captains will face UC Santa Cruz at 11am on Saturday and Mary Washington at 4pm. CNU and Salisbury square off at 1:30pm on Sunday.Â

Christopher Newport swept Meredith on Tuesday night hitting .322 tonight, their second-best percentage of the season.

The Captains are 18-25 against Mary Washington after the Eagles snapped CNU's seven match winning streak earlier this month in Fredericksburg. CNU leads the all-time series against Salisbury 26-15, including a win in the final of last year's C2C tournament. There's less history with UC Santa Cruz, but the Captains have won the only two meetings in three sets.
Scouting the Banana Slugs
UC Santa Cruz is 10-4 coming into the weekend, but dropped two of three last weekend at the Cal Lutheran Invite with losses to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Whittier and a win over Pomona-Pitzer. They've been solid on their serves with Lauren Bliss and Samantha Taylor averaging .63 aces per set.Â
Scouting the Eagles
Mary Washington holds a 10-3 record this season and have won their last six matches. The Eagles have swept their last four opponents with a relentless attack. Three Eagles are hitting above .300 for the season, not even including kills leader Jordan Lyons.
Scouting the Sea Gulls
Salisbury enters the weekend with an impressive 13-1 record and seven wins in a row. They won four matches last weekend at Marymount's Worthington Classic. Jenna Feinauer has been stellar for the Sea Gulls with 1.22 blocks per set and a .317 hitting percentage.
