NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Christopher Newport Volleyball opens a five game homestand on Tuesday night as they welcome Meredith to the Freeman Center.

The Captains and the Avenging Angels are set for a 6:00pm start on Tuesday at the Freeman Center. The match can be streamed live on CNU All-Access and live stats will be available on CNU's Website.

Christopher Newport went 1-2 last weekend at the Mt. St. Joseph tournament. Captains' senior 
Sammy Carroll passed 3000 assists on Saturday, becoming the fifth Captain ever to do so and the first since Rachel Conway did it in 2015. Carroll assisted on 95 kills through the weekend, including 49 in a win over Ohio Northern. ​​Junior 
Macy Burk blocked 16 attacks in three matches over the weekend, including 13 solo blocks. Eight of those solo blocks came in the win over Ohio Northern.

Macy Burk ranks 12th nationally with 1.17 blocks per set while her 61 total blocks are third in the nation. In addition to her solo blocks against Ohio Northern, Burk had four solo blocks in CNU's most recent match against Transylvania.
Series History
The Captains are 25-1 all-time against Meredith and boast 24 straight wins. CNU traveled to Raleigh last season and left with a 3-1 win after 
Kyla McIntyre drove 20 kills in the victory.
Scouting the Avenging Angels
Meredith split their weekend in Brevard, NC, with a three set win over Brevard but a three set loss to Southern Virginia. The Avenging Angels are 9-5 this season and are led by sophomore Lauren Bissette, who ranks fourth in the country with a .435 hitting percentage. Meredith as a team is hitting .239 which ranks in the national top 15.
