SALISBURY, Md. -- Following their appearance in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, three Christopher Newport baseball players were named to the C2C All-Tournament Team. Junior catcher Drew Caroline, sophomore outfielder Scott Crosson, and rookie reliever Colin D'Arcy earned the recognition as announced by the league late Sunday night. 

For the second consecutive season, Christopher Newport advanced to a best-of-three championship series against Salisbury and the Captains have reached the conference title game in three straight seasons. This year, the Captains defeated Mary Washington, 13-12, in the opening game before dropping a pair to nationally-ranked Salisbury. 

Leading the way with a breakout series was Drew Caroline, who picked up his first two career home runs over the weekend. Leaving the yard twice highlighted a three-day run that saw the backstop hit .333 (4-12) with four runs scored and two RBI. He walked once and reached base in three of his five plate appearances against Mary Washington. Also in that game, Caroline's first career home run provided a pivotal insurance run in the bottom of the eighth inning that would hold up as the game-winning run as CNU held off a come-from-behind effort by the Eagles. 

Hitting out of the two hole, Scott Crosson led the team in hits and runs scored in the three-game championship appearance with five base knocks and five runs. He drove in a pair in a 2-for-4 performance against Mary Washington and scored twice in two games against the Sea Gulls. He had a double and a walk and reached base at a .462 clip. 

Rounding out the All-Tournament Team selections for CNU was rookie reliever Colin D'Arcy. In his first appearance in three weeks, D'Arcy was as sharp as he could be against the No. 9 Salisbury squad he faced on Saturday. He struck out three and allowed only one base runner over 3.2 no-hit innings as he did everything he could to keep the Captains in position for a comeback bid down 5-4. He closed out the game with just 12 batters faced, and retired tournament MVP Cam Hyder twice in the run. 

The trio of CNU honorees were joined by four Salisbury players and two Mary Washington selections.
