The Captains are coming off of a 20-10 victory at Catholic on Saturday. Against the Cardinals, freshman Warner Cabaniss established a new single-game program record with 17 ground balls. Dominating possession throughout the game, he eventually won 19 of his 25 faceoff attempts. Overall, Christopher Newport finished the contest with 24 faceoff victories, which equaled the fourth-highest single-game total in school history.

Along with Cabaniss, Drew Miller established a new career-high with four goals against Catholic, while Coby Auslander handed out five assists, which tied the fifth most by a Captain in program history. Meanwhile, on the defensive side, Zac Hanway came through with a season-high 13 saves between the pipes.

Brady Altobello also registered three points against Catholic, which pushed his career total to 138. With one more point, he will pass former All-American Randy Foster for the most by a midfielder in program history.

So far this season, Christopher Newport ranks sixth in the nation in scoring offense with a 19.20 goals-per-game average. The squad is also second in the NCAA in takeaways per game (19.20) and seventh in ground balls per contest (48.20). On an individual level, Phoenix Hines is third in the country with 17 caused turnovers, and Dylan Rice is fifth with 31 points.

Ursinus enters Wednesday on a two-game roll, including a 13-9 triumph over Montclair State on March 2. The Bears' lone loss this season came in the opener at No. 14 Stevenson on February 19.

As a team, Ursinus has converted 50 percent of its man-up opportunities this year, which stands as the 20th-highest rate in the NCAA. Tyler Neal has been a key factor on the offensive side as the Preseason All-American ranks 18th in the country with a 6.00 points-per-game average. Meanwhile, on the defensive side, Jonathan Singer has a .600 save percentage and 9.00 goals-against-average in two starts in the crease.

Wednesday's game will mark the third match-up between Ursinus and Christopher Newport. The Bears currently hold a 2-0 edge in the series, including a 13-9 triumph in Pennsylvania on February 29, 2020. During that contest, Auslander led Christopher Newport with four points, including three goals.

Following Wednesday's tilt, the Captains will return to action on Sunday when the squad hosts Illinois Wesleyan at 1 p.m.
