Christopher Newport Volleyball opens up the 2022 NCAA Volleyball Tournament on Thursday afternoon in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. 

Match Details

The Captains will face SUNY Morrisville in the first round of the NCAA Regional at 12:30 pm on Thursday. The winner will play in the regional semifinal at 4:30 pm Friday against either Ithaca or Alfred State.

Last Time Out

Christopher Newport finished the regular season with a 21-13 record and finished third in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference standings. After defeating Pratt in the first round, the Captains lost in the C2C semi finals to Mary Washington.

The Coast-to-Coast Conference saw all four semifinal teams selected to the tournament. UC Santa Cruz, Mary Washington, and Salisbury join CNU in the 2022 Volleyball tournament.

Christopher Newport was selected to their 19th tournament appearance in program history on Monday. It's the 18th selection for Head Coach Lindsay Birch. Since CNU made their fifth tournament appearance in 2005, the Captains have not missed a tournament and have made 15 straight NCAA tournaments.

Scouting the Mustangs

SUNY Morrisville captured their fourth United East title and will be making their fourth tournament appearance in five seasons. They hold a 23-7 record this season after taking down Penn State Berks on Saturday. Freshman Keelin Baker was named the United East tournament's Most Valuable Player with 12 kills in Friday's semifinal and 10 more kills in Saturday's Championship to go along with nine digs.
