NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport got to work early Saturday, and the 12th-ranked Captains recorded an 11-1 victory over Mary Washington in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference softball tournament. The elimination game knocked the Eagles out of the tourney, and propelled Keith Parr's squad to the Championship vs. Salisbury.

The Captains improved to 28-11 with the win, and will have to beat Salisbury twice to bring home the crown. The Sea Gulls have not yet lost in the double-elimination tourney.
