NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The 2021 football season comes to an end on Saturday, as the Captains of Christopher Newport University travel to Glassboro, N.J., to take on the Profs of Rowan University. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium. The Captains will look to end the year at .500, and enter Saturday's action with a 4-5 overall record and a 2-3 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan is 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC.
The game will be the 12th meeting of the schools all-time, and the Profs hold an 8-3 advantage in the series. Rowan posted a 27-23 triumph in the last game the schools played on November 9, 2019. The Captains, however, had won the two previous games in the series.
"It's an important game for us, and especially our seniors who have worked so hard over the course of their careers," Head Coach
Art Link said. "As a staff, we would love to send them off with a victory. It's also important for our younger student-athletes as they need to keep working to build for the future."
