ASHLAND, Va. - Christopher Newport heads on the road Saturday for a matinee showdown with the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College. Tipoff time is set for 2:00 p.m. at Crenshaw Gymnasium.

The Captains are 7-2 on the season and coming off a home victory on Wednesday night over William Peace College, 83-60. Freshman Ian Anderson led the way for the Captains on Wednesday, posting 20 points and nine rebounds. Senior Dalon McHugh II recorded a double-double with 13 points and a dozen rebounds. John Krikorian's squad is ranked 18th in the nation this week in the poll from D3hoops.com.

Junior Jason Aigner continues to lead the Captains in the scoring column, averaging almost 13 points per game. Junior Adrian Beasley is scoring almost ten while Anderson is now scoring nine per game.

The Yellow Jackets are 8-0 and ranked ninth in the country this week. Randolph-Macon registered a 97-55 home victory over Bridgewater on Wednesday night behind Josh Talbert's 22-point effort. Buzz Anthony leads the Yellow Jackets averaging almost 15 points per game while Talbert is scoring 12 per game. 

Christopher Newport has won the last seven games in the series with Randolph-Macon, including a 72-61 triumph last season at the Freeman Center. The Yellow Jackets hold an 18-10 lead in the series heading into the 29th all-time meeting Saturday.

The game will be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 1:40 p.m.
