NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Christopher Newport women's basketball team will return to the friendly confines of the Freeman Center Tuesday night to take on Methodist University at 6:00 pm. The Captains (4-3) take on the familiar foe from the USA South Athletic Conference in the team's second home game of the season.

General admission tickets will be sold through the CNU Athletic Ticket Office and online at CNUsports.com. Prices for chairback seats are $8 and for general admission, $5. Tickets will also be on sale one hour prior to tip at the CNU Athletic Ticket Office in the Freeman Center.
Christopher Newport will look to use the home-court advantage to bounce back from a pair of non-conference setbacks last week. The Captains all-time winning percentage at the Freeman Center is 85.4% (222-38) including a dominant stretch over the last three seasons. With this year's senior class in the fold, the Captains are 41-3 at home for a winning percentage of 93.2%. Heading into Tuesday night's matchup, Christopher Newport has won 11 straight home games for the sixth longest home winning streak since the building opened in 2000-01.
Through the first seven games this season, rookie
Anaya Simmons leads the Captains' offense with 11.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Sophomore
Natalie Terwilliger is second in scoring with 11.0 points per game and
Julia Ng has hauled in 6.4 rebounds per game. The Captains are scoring 78.3 points per game while leading the nation in total points scored this season. Defensively, Christopher Newport ranks fourth nationally in steals and 10th in turnovers forced per game.
Methodist and Christopher Newport have faced off 83 times prior to Tuesday night's matchup in a series that dates back to the 1979-80 season. The Captains have won 64 of them including five straight in the series.
This season, the Monarchs are 1-3 to start the year while averaging 48.0 points per game. Methodist is led by Tyzarea Alexander, scoring 13.5 points per game and Kadie Snipes, averaging 9.3 points per contest. Methodist won at Brevard College on November 17 between losses to Randolph College, Bob Jones University, and Piedmont International University.
Following Tuesday night's bout, the Captains will head to Stevenson University for a road game against the Mustangs on December 1 at 4:00 pm.
