NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport is 5-0 and ranked 22nd in the nation, and the Captains have a busy weekend as they travel to Lynchburg for a pair of games against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponents. CNU will play Randolph College on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., and then take on the host school, the University of Lynchburg, Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Both games are part of the Lynchburg Classic Tournament.

John Krikorian's squad is coming off a 91-78 victory Wednesday night at Shenandoah. Junior Cutch Ellis posted a career-high 20 points for the Captains, 15 coming in the opening half. Senior Marcus Carter played just three minutes in the first half due to foul trouble, but recorded a 14-point second half to finish with 16. Sophomore Jason Aigner was also in double digits with 13 points.

Saturday's tilt with Randolph will be the first-ever between the schools. The WildCats are 4-2 so far this season. Lynchburg, Sunday's opponent, is also 5-0 to start the season, and the Captains and Hornets will be meeting for the 13th time. Lynchburg holds an 8-4 lead in that all-time series.

Both games this weekend will be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game shows beginning 20 minutes prior to tip off. Following the Classic, the Captains have two home games remaining before holiday break. Christopher Newport will host another ODAC foe, Randolph-Macon, next Saturday, December 8th, at 4:00 p.m. at the Freeman Center.
