CNU Men's Soccer Match at North Carolina Wesleyan College Cancelled Due to Bad Weather

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Head coach Steve Shaw announced the cancellation of Wednesday's non-conference match at North Carolina Wesleyan College due to bad weather. Thunderstorms throughout the area forced the match cancellation and no makeup date has been scheduled.

The Captains (1-1-0) will return to action this weekend at the 17th Annual Cialella Soccer Classic hosted by Rutgers-Camden. First, CNU will take on Rowan University on Saturday, September 9 before then taking on the host Scarlet Raptors on Saturday, September 10. It is the second time CNU will be playing in the event after winning the tournament title in 2015.

Through the first two games of the season, the Captains rank in the top ten nationally in scoring offense (5.5 goals per game), points per game (16.5), and assists per game (5.5). Senior Jimmy Grace leads the squad with two goals and two assists.
