NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Riding a five-game winning streak, the Christopher Newport men's soccer team will look to make it six in a row on Saturday as they host Wesley College in Capital Athletic Conference action. The game will kick off at Noon on Captains Field, and is being played as part of a conference doubleheader with the women's teams, kicking off at approximately 2:00 pm.
CNU carries a 6-2-0 overall record and a 1-0-0 conference mark into Saturday's matchup with the Wolverines. Wesley is 2-8-0 with an 0-1-0 record against the league. The Captains own a 4-1-0 record all-time against Wesley College, including a 2-1 victory on the road last year.

CNU has won five straight games, including a 4-2 victory at Randolph in the non-conference finale in their last game. The Captains have scored multiple goals in each of the five games, and are averaging an impressive 3.62 goals per game this season. In the first half, CNU is particularly dominant, outscoring foes, 17-3, before the intermission.
Leading the offense, senior
Jimmy Grace has scored eight goals and added two assists for 18 points this year, ranking second in the CAC. Junior
Stephen Durbin is also in double figures with 11 points on five goals and one assist. Senior midfielder
Andrew Gogolin and rookie
Davis Pillow have each added three goals and two assists for eight points so far this season.
Wesley's leading scorer is one of the top freshmen in the league this year, as rookie Darius-David Robinson has scored a team-high four goals. Junior Chimaobi Ikwuagwu has added three goals, and junior Nicholas Hood rounds out the multiple goal scorers with a pair.
Following the action on Saturday, CNU will host Southern Virginia University on Wednesday, October 4 for a 7:00 pm kickoff against the Knights.
