NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The nationally-ranked Christopher Newport basketball teams will host the Bobcats of Frostburg State University Saturday at the Freeman Center. The women's game will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by the men's game at 4:00 p.m.

The CNU women's squad is ranked second and third in two national polls in Division III. Junior Jessica Daguilh recorded her first double-double of the season by posting 12 points and 11 rebounds. Fellow seniors Mackenzie Fancher and Bailey Dufrene also tallied a dozen points each, and senior Sam Porter finished with 11. Porter is now just three points shy of 1,000 for her career.

The Captains will be hosting a Frostburg State squad that is also 1-0 in the CAC, as the Bobcats opened conference play Wednesday at home with a 66-55 triumph over Penn State-Harrisburg. FSU is 4-2 overall so far this season.

On the men's side, the Captains are 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the CAC thanks to a 71-66 victory over Salisbury on Wednesday night at the Freeman Center. CNU, ranked 17th in the country this week, was led by a 26-point performance from senior Aaron McFarland, who knocked down five three-pointers along the way. Big men Savonte Chappell (14 points) and Spencer Marin (11 points and eight rebounds) also excelled for the Captains, who won over Salisbury for the sixth time in the last seven meetings.

Frostburg State's men's team enters play on Saturday with a 3-2 overall mark and a 1-0 record in the CAC. The Bobcats defeated Penn State-Harrisburg on Wednesday by a 76-72 margin.
