Both teams have enjoyed remarkable success so far this season, and will now play their next three games away from home, as well as five of the next six on the schedule. Wednesday night in St. Mary's City, Maryland, the Captains will take on the Seahawks of St. Mary's College of Maryland. The women's game will tip off at 6:00 p.m. followed by the men's action at 8:00 p.m.
The CNU men are 14-1 overall and 8-0 atop the Capital Athletic Conference. The Captains have won five straight games since the start of the new year and are coming off a 72-53 home victory over York College on Saturday.
John Krikorian's team moved up to 10th in the nation in this week's national poll from D3hoops.com, and now holds a three-game lead in the CAC standings with ten games to play.
The CNU women have won their last eight games and are now 13-2 overall and 6-2 in the CAC.
Bill Broderick's squad is currently in a three-way tie for second place in the CAC standings just one game behind Marymount. The women are receiving votes in the national polls following Saturday's impressive 20-point victory over York, 78-58, at the Freeman Center.
Both CNU teams received honors from the CAC on Monday, as Tim Daly and
Anitra Thomas were named the Players of the Week in the conference. Daly, a junior from Richmond, has posted back-to-back double digit performances in scoring and rebounding against Mary Washington and York. Thomas, a sophomore from Lynchburg, scored a career-best 23 points vs. York and also pulled down a career-high seven rebounds at Mary Washington.
St. Mary's men's team enters Wednesday night's action with an 8-7 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the CAC. The SMCM women are 5-10 so far, and 3-5 in the CAC.

The men's game will also be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 7:40 p.m.
CNU will follow Wednesday's games with another trip to Maryland to take on Frostburg State this weekend, and then head to Southern Virginia next Wednesday night.
