NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Christopher Newport surged to a 20-point lead at halftime Sunday, and then scored the first 13 points of the second half en route to a 74-47 victory over Frostburg State. The triumph at the Freeman Center came in the first Capital Athletic Conference game of the season for both schools.

"You always go in expecting a battle to the final seconds," Head Coach

This is the first time the Captains have opened the season 4-0 in Krikorian's six-year coaching career at CNU. It's the first time a CNU squad has started 4-0 since the 2004-2005 campaign when the Captains won their first five games on the way to an 18-8 final record.
