Men's Basketball Travels to Randolph-Macon for Tuesday Night Showdown...Tipoff Set for 7:00 P.M.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Christopher Newport hits the road for the first time Tuesday night, as the Captains travel to Ashland to play Randolph-Macon College. Tipoff time at Crenshaw Gymnasium is set for 7:00 p.m.

The Captains are off to a 2-0 start, while the Yellow Jackets are 1-2 so far in the new season. For CNU it will be the third straight non-conference game against a school from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Captains have defeated Lynchburg (72-56) and Washington & Lee (70-52) at the Freeman Center to start the season.

Randolph-Macon picked up its first win of the season on Sunday, an 84-74 victory at Frostburg State. The Yellow Jackets dropped their first two games under new head coach Josh Merkel, who left Salisbury to take over the Randolph-Macon program following the departure of Nathan Davis, who is now the head coach at Bucknell.

The matchup will be the 25th all-time, with Randolph-Macon holding an 18-6 lead in the series. CNU has won the last three meetings, including a 71-70 overtime triumph to open the season last year at the Freeman Center.

The game will be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 6:40 p.m.
