NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- Christopher Newport's three-point shooting machine travels to Delaware Tuesday, as the hot-shooting Captains take on Wesley College in Dover. Tipoff time is set for 5:00 p.m. at Wentworth Gymnasium.
John Krikorian's squad is coming off a record-setting performance on Saturday, when the Captains knocked down a new school mark of 18 three-pointers in a 95-61 triumph over York College at the Freeman Center. CNU has attempted 102 treys, and made 45, in the last three games.
CNU is 8-3 overall and 3-1 in the Capital Athletic Conference, and the Captains will put their three-game winning streak on the line against the Wolverines, who are 5-6 overall and also 3-1 in CAC play. Wesley is coming off a 64-60 victory over Frostburg State on Sunday.
Christopher Newport is led by freshman
Marcus Carter, who is averaging almost 16 points per game. Carter was selected the CAC's Player of the Week on Monday after leading CNU to three home wins last week following holiday break.
