SALISBURY, MD- The Christopher Newport basketball teams continue a busy eight-day stretch Wednesday night. The CNU men and women travel to Salisbury, MD, for a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader vs. Salisbury University. The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men's game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Both squads will be playing the third of four games in an eight day span, and both look to continue their winning ways.

Bill Broderick's women's team has won 12 straight games, and are now 17-2 overall this season. The Captains moved up in both the D3hoops.com and USA Today Sports Division III Coaches' Top 25 this week, ranked 13th nationally in both polls. Benefield, a pre-season All-America selection, is now seventh on the school's all-time scoring list with 1,645 career points. He needs just 32 points to pass Buck Moore for sixth place all-time. Benefield poured in a game-high 22 points in Monday's win over Southern Virginia.

The Captains beat the Sea Gulls on December 18th at the Freeman Center, 56-47. Salisbury is currently 9-10 overall and 4-6 in the CAC.
