RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Christopher Newport University women's basketball team will begin a three-game road stretch on Saturday, with a 2:00 pm tip at William Peace University. The Captains are riding a seven-game winning streak while the Pacers are coming off a win that snapped a six-game skid.
CNU is 12-3 overall, 7-1 in the USA South, taking on Peace, 2-13 overall, 1-7 in league play.
The Captains offense has been balanced this season, led by sophomores
Tia Perry and
Nicole Mitchell. The second-year players are each averaging double digits in the scoring column and are 1-2 in rebounds per game for CNU.
Peace has one player in double figures, sophomore Crystal Alston at 13.5 points per game this season.
