MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- The top-ranked and top-seeded Christopher Newport University Captains (39-6) are set to take on Wabash College (21-21) in today's elimination game on the second day of the 2011 NCAA South Regional at Noon, central, 1:00 pm eastern standard time. The Captains face off against the Little Giants in second round action and CNU will call on sophomore right-hander Greg Goldsmith for the start. Goldsmith boasts a team-best 2.23 ERA and has posted a 7-1 record this season for the Captains, striking out 49 in 60.2 innings pitched. In his last start, he pitched a complete-game shutout in the USA South Tournament.

The Little Giants will counter with Brian Van Duyn (3-3, 5.05 ERA) and feature a potent offensive attack. Wabash has won six of their last seven and is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance in the 2011 Regional after winning the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship for the first time in school history.
