NEWPORT NEWS, VA- It will be "Showdown Saturday" this weekend in Ferrum, Virginia.

The Captains of Christopher Newport travel to take on the Panthers of Ferrum College. The winner will capture the USA South's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

No matter what happens in the final weekend of the season, the winner of this game will be NCAA bound. Both teams are 5-0 in the league and 6-2 overall. CNU has won five straight while Ferrum has won six in a row.

CNU is coming off a 27-22 road win at Greensboro last Saturday. Ferrum had little trouble last Sunday in a 41-28 win at Shenandoah.

The Captains have dominated the series, having won seven in a row and nine out of ten previous meetings.

Game time is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at W.B. Adams Stadium in Ferrum.
