Meet me in St. Louis, Captains fans! The lights will be shining bright as the sixth-ranked Christopher Newport University volleyball team (36-4) head to Missouri for the 2011 NCAA Championships after winning their third straight NCAA Regional Championship. CNU will take on SUNY Cortland (41-1) in the Elite Eight in the first game of the weekend at 12:30 pm (CST)/1:30 pm (EST).
The host of this year's championship is Washington University in St. Louis and the event will be played at the Washington University Field House. All information pertaining to this weekend's event can be found at the

This season's championship will feature four teams ranked in the Top Ten in the AVCA's final poll of the season: #4 Eastern University (35-2), #5 Wittenberg (34-3), #6 Christopher Newport (36-4) and #9 Carthage (33-6). The remaining four are also ranked in the top 25, as the Captains will take on the 18th-ranked Red Dragons.
The Captains won their third straight Regional Title behind the efforts of a well-balanced attack this season, ranking 11th in the nation in hitting percentage (.269). Three All-Americans lead the way, as junior libero

Jessie Heavenrich collected her second straight Second Team All-America honor.
Junior
Bailey Jensen was the third selection this season, after posting the second best season in total blocks in school history. She ranks 42nd in the nation with 1.06 blocks per set while also leading the team in kills per set with 2.54. Her 315 kills have come on a very efficient .359 hitting percentage.
The Captains have lost just four matches this season, with three of them coming in five sets. Of the remaining teams in the tournament, the Captains have faced Eastern (L, 2-3), Carthage (W, 3-1) and Cal Lutheran (W, 3-0) already this season.
About the Red Dragons
SUNY Cortland has lost only once this season, a four-set defeat to UMASS-Boston on October 1. Since, the Red Dragons have run off 22 straight victories en route to the best record in the nation (42-1) with a .977 winning percentage. Four different players have piled up over 250 kills this season, led by Sheena Asibey with 373 total kills on a team-best .322 hitting. The Dragons rank 23rd in the nation in hitting percentage as a team, with a .253 percentage.

Tournament Schedule
The Captains and Red Dragons kick off this weekend's games at 12:30 local time, followed by #20 Springfield vs. #9 Carthage at 3:00 pm. The two winning teams will advance to face eachother in the National Semifinals on Saturday at 3:30 pm. The championship game is set for 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 20.
