FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The fifth ranked Captains of Christopher Newport University (14-1, 8-0) head out of town for the weekend as they will start things off tonight with a game at Methodist University (8-7, 6-2) at 7:00 pm, before heading up the road to Greensboro for a huge Top 25 battle on Sunday at 2:00 pm.

CNU will be looking for its ninth straight victory tonight, facing off against a talented Methodist squad that has played well against USA South competition. The Monarchs are 6-2 and just a half game behind Ferrum for third place in the league, while CNU maintains a tie with Greensboro at the top spot with undefeated records.

The Captains will lean on the nation's leading scorer, Chelsie Schweers, who comes in averaging 24.9 points per game. Methodist holds the distinction of being the team that Schweers netted her career-high (40 points) against last season, but in the 2008-09 season, the Monarchs held Schweers to just nine points, one of only three games in her career she was held to single digits.

Methodist has been led by Dawn Sanderson, a senior center averaging 10.7 points per game and hauling in 5.9 rebounds per game. In the back court, Jackie Lyles leads the way, scoring 9.5 points per game and grabbing a team-high 7.6 rebounds. The Monarchs are riding a modest three-game winning streak heading into tonight's contest.
