Volleyball Shuts Out Puget Sound, 3-0

CNU Volleyball wins their first match of the Trinity Fall Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Christopher Newport University volleyball team won 3-0 as they faced the University of Puget Sound in their first game of the Trinity Fall Classic. Set scores for the match were 25-23, 25-19 and 24-20.

Kara Elder led the Captains in kills with 11, and digs with 20, both season-high performances. Right behind Elder in kills were Bailey Jensen, Caitlyn Jansen and Cory Harris with 10 apiece combining for 41 of the Captains' 49 kills in the match. Harris and Abby Hogge each had 12 digs. Jessie Heavenrich totaled 37 assists giving her 140 on the year.

Leading Puget Sound were Natalie Monro and Juliette Witous each tallying 11 kills while Erika Greene had 22 assists.

The #13 Captains play #22 Trinity tonight with a start time of 8:30 (EST).
