FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The CNU baseball team dropped its USA South opener Saturday afternoon, falling on the road to Methodist, 5-2.
  Tied, 2-2, headed to the bottom of the sixth, the Monarchs pushed across a single on a two-out single. Methodist added two in the bottom of eighth to secure the win.
  Five differenht Captains had hits. Josh Brinkman took the loss after going six innings, allowoing seven hits and striking out seven.
  CNU is now 5-3 and 0-1 in the USA South, Methodst has a 7-3 mark and is 1-0 in the conference.
 The two teams meet again Sunday at 1p.m.
