NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- For the third straight  year, CNU will host men's soccer postseason action, as the Captains play host to the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament this weekend. Tomorrow's opening round action will pit Stockton College against Johns Hopkins University at 5:00 pm followed by the #2 Captains of Christopher Newport (19-1-1) vs. Neumann University at 7:30 pm.

Neumann (14-3-2) will be making its first ever NCAA appearance after winning the Colonial States Athletic Conference championship. The Knights feature the second best offense in the nation, scoring 3.26 goals per game, while only allowing 0.81 goals against per game. Neumann is led by four 20-point scorers this year, including Zach Sell and Evan Morgan with a team-high 28 points apiece.

Christopher Newport, currently ranked number two in the country after three weeks in the top spot, is playing in its sixth NCAA Tournament and is coming off of back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in the last two seasons. USA South Player of the Year Brian Lybert leads the way for CNU, as he has 32 total points including 14 assists, tops in the nation. He leads an offense that ranks sixth in the nation, with 2.9 goals per game, with USA South Tournament MVP Winston Mattheisen adding 26 points on nine goals and eight assists.
