NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Christopher Newport University volleyball squad is hosting the CNU Invitational on Friday and Saturday with their first match at 2:00pm on Friday against Washington & Lee University.

The Generals are 13-2 and are led by M.A. Bowles averaging 3.5 kills per set and has had 29 service aces on the year. Nikki DelZenero and Meghan Meleski are both averaging over nine assists per set. Cameron Hill is averaging 4.34 digs per set while Lindsey Dee has totaled 49 blocks for the Generals.

The Captains take on #10 University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 8:00pm on Friday in the Freeman Center. The Titans are 16-2 on the year and are led by Aleisha Bagin averaging 3.56 kills per set. The Titans have three players who have over 20 aces this season. Christina Cahoon is averaging 6.08 digs per set for the Titans while Brittany Gruning has put up a total of 55 blocks.

CNU faces Haverford College at 11:00am on Saturday who are currently 9-9. Laura Ramos has the highest kill-per-set average for the Fords with 3.00. Kate Comey is averaging 9.79 assists per set and Olivia Coburn-Flynn has a 1.03 block-per-set average.

Salisbury is the final opponent for CNU in the Invitational. The match is set to start at 3:00pm on Saturday. Salisbury is 12-6 so far and has two players, Chelsea Glowacki and Carley Todd, averaging over two kills per set. Todd and Lindsey Saltzman are leading in assists with over four per set. Glowacki leads the Seagulls in blocks with 57 this season.

Teams participating in the CNU Invitational are Haverford, Salisbury, Virginia Wesleyan, Washington & Lee, and #10 Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
