NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The 20th ranked CNU women's basketball team raced to an easy, 84-29, win over N.C. Wesleyan for their 13th consecutive win, Wednesday night at the Freeman Center.
The Captains surged to a 15-1 lead in the first few minutes and had 41-12 lead at halftime.
CNU was paced by Chelsie Schweers who scored 32 points in just 22 minutes of action. She was 13-19 from the floor and had six steals.
Freshman Kelly Halverson scored a career-high 14 points, making three of six three-pointers.
CNU is now 13-0 overall and 6-0 in USA South play. The Bishops are 0-9 and 0-4.
The Captains take to the road for two big conference games, meeting Averett Saturday and Ferrum Sunday, both at 2 p.m.
