NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Christopher Newport's No. 14 ranked field hockey team took a 1-0 lead over sixth-ranked Salisbury Wednesday afternoon at Captains Field, but eventually fell, 2-1, for its first loss of the year.

  The Captains took the lead in the 15^th minute on a goal by Stephanie Bair. Salisbury tied the game in the 31^st minute on a goal by Kristina Fusco, and tallied the game-winner in the 47^th minute when Caitlin Walker scored.
