SALISBURY, MD – Less than 24 hours after meeting in Newport News, CNU's baseball squad lost at No. 2 Salisbury, 10-3, Saturday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls scored two runs in the first and three more in the second by taking an early 5-0 lead. The Captains cut the lead to three, 5-2, with two runs in the third. Salisbury responded with three more in the fourth and two more in the fifth, to take a 10-2 lead.

Christopher Newport scored its final run in the top of the seventh.

Mike Giarrizzi was 2-for-3 with a run driven in. Shannon Mark was 2-for-4 and Parker Neal drove in two runs.

Kyle Baumann started and lasted just two innings, yielding five runs on six hits.

The Sea Gulls improve to 34-6 while the Captains fall to 22-10-1. CNU concludes the regular season Sunday when they host York (PA) in a doubleheader beginning at 12 pm.
