NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The CNU women's basketball team equaled a program record by winning their eighth straight game to start a season, defeating Wesley, 77-66, Friday night at the Freeman Center.
The Captains led all the way after breaking a 2-2 tie, building as much as a 16-point margin.
Chelsie Schweers paced CNU with 27 points, while
Jessica Moore had 18 and ten rebounds and
Kimmy Hopkins contributed 17.
Wesley was led by Jasmine Barksdale with 20 points.
CNU closes the 2009 portion of its season, hosting Randolph-Macon on Dec. 30 at 7 p.m.
