Day 5 - Game Day...
Today was a very long day. We woke up bright and early (to a very rainy and gloomy day, unfortunately) for breakfast at 6:30 am. We were in the vans by 7:15 on our way to the gym, because the game was supposed to start at 9:00 am. We got there and noticed that there were some leaks on the floor, but got dressed and ready anyway. After shooting around for a little bit, we were informed that we weren't going to be able to play there and that they were trying to find us another location.
We kept warming up and shooting around anyways until we found out that we weren't going to be able to play until 5:30 that night, so we went to the hotel to regroup.
There was a lot of waiting around and it wasn't very fun because we were all very anxious to play. Finally the time came to leave for the new location and we arrived to some five- and six-year-old boys and girls playing rec league. It helped brighten the day -- it was very fun and entertaining to watch them because they were so cute. Once they were done, we got on and started warming up and getting ready for the big game that we had been waiting for all day. It was a rough game in the first half, and we dug into a hole that was just too deep to get out of in the second half. Unfortunately, we lost our first game all season to Thomas More and it really stunk. We just have to take this loss as a learning experience for the rest of the season and not let it happen again.
After the game, we watched a little bit of McMurry, who we will be playing tomorrow, then we headed back to the hotel. We got some late night pizza and watched a little more film on McMurry and spoke about our game plan against them. Then, we all went to bed to get some rest for the next game.
