YORK, Pa. -- With his second consecutive selection by the Capital Athletic Conference, Christopher Newport senior forward Jalon Brown became the first player in program history to earn three Conference Player of the Year honors in his career. CNU's all-time scoring leader is the fourth player in CAC history to repeat as the Men's Soccer Player of the Year, and headlines a CAC-high six All-Conference selections for the Captains this year. 

Brown, a two-time All-American up front, saved his finest season for last with a career-high 42 points so far this season. He has led the league in goals scored and points throughout the season, and ranks ninth nationally in goals scored with 18. He has chipped in six assists and ranks 15th nationally in total points, leading one of the nation's most dominant offensive teams this season. The Yorktown, Va. native has scored at least one point in 16 games this season and has factored into multiple goals five times. Twice he posted a hat trick, giving him three for his career. 

With a three-goal performance against Southern Virginia, Brown became the Captains' all-time leading scorer and continues to add to his record-breaking total with 129 career points. He has scored 50 goals in four years, just one shy of the program mark, and also ranks second in game-winning goals and penalty kick goals. Not just a scorer, Brown has also helped facilitate others throughout his career, earning 29 career assists for fifth on the all-time chart at CNU. 

Brown became just the second player in program history to earn first team All-Conference honors in all four years of his career, joining defender Sean Moriarty. He was joined on the first team by three of his teammates: defender Alec Faulkner, midfielder Harry Nodwell and forward Patrick Burns. Two more CNU players captured second team All-CAC honors as senior defender Tommy O'Neal and sophomore midfielder Jimmy Grace were named to the All-Conference team. 

Faulkner earns his third straight first team All-Conference selection after again anchoring a strong defensive unit. This season, the senior defender has played a team-high 2,144 minutes, missing just over 11 minutes of action in a blowout victory over Marymount. He has played wire-to-wire in every other contest, including four double-overtime complete games this season. He has helped the CNU defense post eight shutouts and hold opponents to just 7.2 shots per game. Against conference opponents, the CNU defense posted a 1.03 goals against average. 

Also on the first team, sophomore Harry Nodwell picks up his second career All-Conference selection and first as a member of the Captains. Nodwell was a first team All-USA South pick as a freshman for the Averett Cougars, and his success translated right into the CNU system, as the midfielder scored five goals with two assists. His 12 points rank fourth on the team this season and first among midfielders. He has been efficient, scoring on over 20% of his shots taken this season with five tallies on 24 attempts. 

Rounding out the first team selections is breakout sophomore forward Patrick Burns. In his second year with the Captains, the Clifton Forge, Va. native busted out in a big way and ranks second in the league in scoring with 33 points. His 11 assists are among the best in the country, and he has put away 11 goals as well to help a CNU offense that ranks ninth nationally in total goals and total points. The sophomore added an explosive option off the bench this season.

Also honored by this year's CAC coaches were O'Neal and Grace, both picking up their second straight All-Conference selections. Both were second team picks in 2013.

The Captains will return to action this Saturday, November 15 as they host the NCAA First Round at Captains Field. CNU takes on Lynchburg College in the first round at 7:30 pm with live stats and live video available at www.cnusports.com/live.
